Invisalign is an excellent orthodontic choice because the results are very positive, and it is easier and more comfortable than using metal and wires. Is Invisalign right for me?
Bite issues
Invisalign has proved to be successful in mild to moderate bite issues. But those individuals with severe correction needs may need more drastic measures involving the jaw bone. Invisalign is not appropriate for bone issues.
Compliance
Another issue that can prove challenging for some people is compliance. The appliance must be worn at least 22 hours a day and is removed only for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene. If they are not worn for enough time, they won’t work.
Age
They are also not appropriate for children, tweens and younger teens. The simple fact is that their teeth are still developing. Traditional braces are a better choice.
Price
Economics also plays a part. The charge for Invisalign is higher than for traditional bracing. Consult your dental insurer and review your budget before committing.
